When this skirt first hit my feed from Hellbunny, I wasn’t a fan. I simply pushed it aside and went straight for something else. It wasn’t until a few months later that I saw it in the flesh and I slapped myself mentally for not grabbing it sooner. The print was so divine! The colours were so bright! I tried it on, did a twirl and new it had to be mine. When it wasn’t available in my size, I searched and hunted online and found that my go-to online store, Ruff n Ready had one in stock. I grabbed it while I could!
The Cannes print skirt is beautiful. Red roses on a black background. It is classic, beautiful and so easy to style. I wore this for a date with Jacob and teamed it with a simple Collectif blouse and red accessories.
My advice for buying Hellbunny skirts is this: They are small and I size up. If you follow the Hellbunny styles I wear, you will notice that I often wear a XL in stretch back dresses and a 2xl in non-stretch items. The skirt I am wearing is a 3xl and fits my 40 inch waist perfectly. This is the 4th Hellbunny skirt I have bought, and I have 2 2xl which are VERY, VERY TIGHT and another 3xl which also fit well. So take my advice and size up in the plus sizes! The fabric has no stretch and the waist bands are snug!
This print also comes in white, but I love the striking colours of black and red together, mixed with a flick of light pink and dash of greenery. It is the perfect skirt for me and I adore wearing it. I teamed it with a simple black Dolores top from Collectif, every pin-up girl needs one of these! I have 2 and let’s just say my collection will grow again very soon!
