Inspiration: The New Mod
Top Shop are saying the new trend of the season is New Mod. Think the 60s with high collars, high waists and classic tailoring but twist it with citrus yellows, pops of blue and throw in a touch of oxblood, the colour of the season. Here are my favourites from the new releases, available at Top Shop. Pitty they don’t come in plus size!
Back Faux Snakeskin Suede Biker Jacket £160.00
Olive 3/4 Sleeve Collarless Blazer £60.00
Cream Contrast Long Sleeve Shirt £36.00
MAGIC Oxblood Patent Oxfords £30.00
Jade Faux Leather Waistband Pencil Skirt £30.00
MOTO Tangerine Skinny Jeans £40.00
AIm Black Suede Cut Out Ankle Boots £80.00
Grey Oxford Collar Shirt £28.50
Caramel Wing Stud Detail Cats Eye Sunglasses £18.00
The one thing I love about this look is it’s very indie, but still can be twisted to give your own personal style. I can see a great deal of personality coming into these pieces. The cats eyes work well with the pencil skirt, a contrast blouse great with yellow skinny jeans and that masculine olive blazer is just a fabulous shape and colour, it would work in any season, even in summer over frayed cut-off shorts.
If there is one thing you can encorporate into your Winter wardrobe from the New Mod trend is pick up something in Oxblood. It’s a red-brown colour that sits between maroon and brown and its just a great alternative. I think it’s be a refrshing change from a boring brown handbag. Think patents, in belts and oxford flats and keep the colour minimal for be impact.
