Christmas Day for me was beautiful.
The rain dropped from the sky and we sat inside, huddled up with family giving gifts and sharing stories.
It was the perfect time to overdress and wear one of my latest dress purchases, the Hellbunny Nell dress.
When I first saw this dress online, I passed it off. But as the weeks went by, I looked back at it and finally caved in to buy it.
I am so glad I did, because not only is the colour beautiful, the cut is ever so flattering and I felt beautiful when wearing it.
Unlike my other Hellbunny dresses, the Nell is more 40s and doesn’t have that big “50s” skirt: the waist is soft and the skirt simply drapes out. It wasn’t a style I had ever worn before (other than a more exaggerated Skater Dress) and I was hesitant to spend money on something that this time last year wouldn’t have fit, nor look nice on my shape. I was pleasantly surprised, with the cut in the 2xl (the smallest size in the plus-sizes available) quite roomy across both the bust and waist.
My second worry for the Nell was the open window, a feature I certainly haven’t worn before. I found it surprisingly flattering and I wasn’t worried about flashing anyone across the table during Christmas lunch. The sleeves are a perfect fit for me (Hellbunny have been known to have small sleeves) but I wasn’t restricted at all throughout the day.
You may notice, beyond the hair flowers and beautiful dress that my hair has grown over 22 inches since my last post….
Well, it certainly hasn’t! My beautiful fiancé Jacob gifted me a set of Zala Hair Extensions for Christmas.
I love having my hair short: it is the perfect length right now and I love it during the hot weather, but I also enjoy styling my hair (especially retro looks!) with long tresses. These extensions are beautiful and the perfect match to my new colour. I will be writing more about them in the near future, so keep an eye out!
