Christmas Eve in Jacob’s family is a big deal and I love that I have become part of his beautiful family.
This Christmas was my second with Jacob and it was lovely to feel so comfortable in the home of his wonderful aunt, uncle and cousins and feel part of the family (instead of being a nervous wreck!).
The backyard, casual meal didn’t mean I couldn’t add a bit of sparkle, so I went all out with this vintage jacket.
It’s been hanging in my closet since the beginning of 2013 when I grabbed it at my local Vinnies for $3.00.
Christmas Eve felt like the perfect time to take it for it’s first outing.
I kept the red lippie at home and instead kept my hair and makeup simply, allowing the festive colours of my outfit do all the talking.
The heels were tossed off as soon as we hit the backyard, but I love them and wanted to start Christmas with a bit of sparkle. They are Betsy Johnson and they’re ridiculous to walk in but certainly turn heads.
The peplum is an Autograph purchase during one of their great sales (I think it was about $20). I haven’t been a huge peplum fan, but I like the softness of the shape and bright pop of colour. I wear it quite often when I am teaching as its soft, stretchy and a bit of colour. The jeans are an old favourite from Target that are getting a bit big, but still a nice dark shade.
