Rough it up.

Black & white.
My comfort zone…yet this skirt pushes me out of my everyday and into something beyond.
This is the final beautiful bandana piece that was sent to me by the ever-so-amazing Craig from Ruff n Ready.
I cannot recommend Craig enough for his excellent customer service, wonderful low prices and great range.
It is so nice to be able to buy from an Australian retailer, rather than having to reach out to the International sellers. I love that Craig features both standard and plus size pieces from Hell Bunny and with new stock coming in all the time, it’s perfect for girls like me who always need something “new”.

I wanted to style this look a bit cute, a bit sassy and a bit fun. The Bandana Skirt is so easy to style, so I played around with a new top and a pair of old faithful heels that have served me well for almost 8 years.

Let’s start by talking about this top: I want you to stop shopping in ugly, plus size retailers and take a look at that small, cheap store at your local shopping centre. You know the one, usually with a $2.00 singlet top rack out the front. You’ve probably never walked in…until now.
The top I am wearing here is a size 12. It’s a super soft knit, ultra stretchy and so comfortable to wear. The best part? It cost me about $15.00 on sale and it’s perfect for wearing in lots of different ways, including tucked into my new skirt. Always be prepared to shop outside your comfort zone: you never know what you will find!

This is my second Bandana Skirt from Hell Bunny via Ruff n Ready. I featured the red version in my Aussie Curves: Retro post on Saturday. I love the print so much (can you tell….I have the dress as well!) and I love the black version as well. It is just so striking! It features the same white contrasting as the red version, the same gorgeous 50s styling and pockets and button details. It’s a full circle skirt on a fitted waist band, printed cotton with a limited to no stretch. It’s the ultimate skirt for your rockabilly wardrobe.

I am wearing the Bandana Print skirt here without a petticoat or crinoline to show you that it is easy to wear without for “day time”. It sits below the knee and is the ideal length for all day wear. I like the skirt with and without and don’t have a preference: I guess it is all up to how you want to wear it!
