This week I knew I had to get in on this challenge: who could blame me?
I am a recent convert to the style that I have adored for many years and the retro and rockabilly look takes place in my wardrobe very strongly.
I play around with traditional looks from the 50s, but also love the fun fabrics available in retro-inspired pieces.

Lots of ladies have asked where I have been sourcing such pieces and for me, it was only obvious to buy locally. While 100% everything I wear (in terms of rockabilly) is from the USA and abroad, I can highly suggest Ruff n Ready. Australian based, Craig gives the best customer service and is excellent value for the beautiful pieces he imports. This week I will be showcasing 2 more looks from pieces you can buy from his store, all covering my latest obsession: bandana print.

I wanted to make this post fun and playful, so I slipped on a petticoat and my French Bulldog loafers and Jacob and I hit the local park. The skirt I am wearing is by cult brand Hellbunny. If you haven’t heard of Hellbunny, just think about patterns from the 1950s and then think about them made in fabrics that are bright, colourful and often outrageous.
Hellbunny is available from size XS to 4XL, meaning ladies up to a 22 can get their hands on a piece of rockabilly goodness. I am a recent convert to Hellbunny: I now own around 3 dresses, 2 crinolines and 2 skirts. My collection is ever growing, and with new releases all the time, I don’t think that will be changing any time soon!

When I started to look into buying some of these beautiful designs, I was worried about having to hunt around online for a good e-retailer.
I looked to eBay but wasn’t impressed by the prices and exchange rates. A friend of mine on FaceBook recommended that I try Craig from Ruff n Ready.
My first impression was that of pure awesomeness: He ordered from Hellbunny every Wednesday, did layby and he carried the plus size label. He was also located in Australia and was speedy in responding to emails and sending parcels.

The Ruff n Ready website is always updated with awesome alternative fashion, accessories and goodies for your home; Craig is quick to ship and before you know it your new goodies are in your wardrobe!

I am so excited to be featuring an Australian business on my blog and that Craig has been kind enough to share three pieces with me from Hellbunny to showcase on Closet Confessions!

I am wearing the Bandana Print Skirt in Red here in a size 2XL. The waistband has so stretch, and would suit someone with a 38-39 inch waist (so around a 16). The skirt is available in blue and black (keep your eyes peeled!) but with red being my favourite shade, I knew it had to be mine! Skulls, guns with wings and traditional bandana style paisley adorn the bright background. You could spend hours looking at this pattern and finding new things, I promise! What I love most is that you could look at it and at first not even notice that guns fly underneath a skull: it is a simply a conversation starter!

The Bandana Print skirt retails for $59.95 and is available in red (as shown), black and blue,

The skirt features contrast white piping and button detail, pockets and a full circle skirt. Its a beautiful printed cotton that flares ever so simply across the body and moves so well! You can wear with or without a petticoat underneath, but for this look I wanted to give off a retro “going to the dance” vibe! Do I pull it off?

I finished off my retro look with this wardrobe staple from 17 Sundays: the black denim jacket. So many people love a normal denim jacket, but to me this back version is so versatile that you can wear it with almost anything. Cropped under the bust, gorgeous metal accents and closures and an almost masculine feel, I cannot stop wearing it!
