Pineapple Pleats

When I saw this tropical print denim jacket, I knew it would look fabulous with just about everything I own. The denim is light and stretchy, the print is subtle yet still fabulous and it looks great with rolled sleeves, over a dress and down at the beach. It’s by 17 Sundays and when it arrived on my doorstep, I wanted to wear it straight away….so I did. I have worn it atleast once a week for the past few months, but I finally dressed it up to share how a denim jacket can work in ANY situation.

And what a better way to show off such a jacket? In a beautiful dress. In fact, it’s hard to tell which is better. The jacket, or this amazing sheer and pleated dress from Australian label Bellecurve. The bright coral/salmon colour is just the pop of colour this jacket needed. Its super soft, comfortable to wear and gets quite a few looks. I love the hi-lo detail in the pleated skirt, and the elastic waist looks cute with the included belt, but I am still obsessed with this belt from ASOS CURVE and will wear it at any chance I get.

In terms of siszing, the Pina Colada jacket has lots of stretch, so if you want a fitted look, I’d go down a size. I am wearing it here in the 24 and could have easily worn it in a size 20 and it is quite loose. I find Bellecurve sizing to be quite standard, and this dress is a size 20, and I could have easily gone into a 22 if I didn’t want to have the pleats cling to my belly or hips. As the waist band was stretchy, the smaller size worked fine for my shape.
