Aussie Curves: Boots
I’ve always loved the community spirit of blogging, but the Australian Plus-Size blogging community is small and tiny compared to the International market (especially the USA). My good friend Danimezza decided it was time we shared our fashion, shared our style and spread the love around out micro-community in a weekly photo challenge. It was a fresh start for me, as I’ve been procrastinating about fashion for a few weeks. I’ve been feeling ugly, a bit bleh and have resorted to wearing the same jeans and t-shirt combo under a baggy hoodie for weeks straight. Today’s challenge got me out of bed, wacking on a bit of makeup and feeling fabulous in my favourite footwear of the moment: Boots.
These boots are from TS14+ and I cannot tell you how much I love them. Until this moment in time, when I pulled the boots over my calves, I had never owned a pair of knee-shigh boots. None would ever fit my legs, and after awhile I got the point and stopped getting my heart swept up in new style boots. I kept to ankle boots and just got on with the job; until I met these babies. Downtown. Sexy. Fabulous. I knew I needed them, and I put my name down months before they came into the store.
The TS14+ Downtown boot is made a of a super soft black leather front pannel. The black is all elastic, and means they slip on easily and stay up. The hold you firm and looking fabulous all day and night. The wide c+ fitting is great for women who need a wider width, the ball of the foot has a Comfort Flex Cushion and the heel is Steel Reinfoced for duribility. I also liked that the boot didn’t have a huge ‘stripper heel’, but a modest and easy to walk in 3cm heel, which is perfect for hitting the streets as the name suggests. Right now, as Australian fashion is slipping and getting ready for Spring, the Downtown Boot is now heavily reduced and available online for $129.00, a perfect price for a great, fabulous fitting boot.
I kept the look simple and comfortable with a pair of black tights and this super slouchy sweater I picked up in NY. It’s a bit big for me, but I liked how it felt on my skin. I’m hoping to experiment and cinch it at the waist with a metallic belt.
