FFFWeek Curves at Sea White Cruise
The dresses were pure. White was everywhere as our yellow cab pulled up at Harbour Lights. We were late by half an hour, but I was feeling glamourous. As I waited for a cab, someone asked me if I was getting married. A police man did a double take. My lashes were long, my hair was up and I felt like a goddess.
The rain held out as hundreds of curvy women lined up beside the marina. The sun was far from setting, but as the boat pushed off the warf and we headed out along the water, the music intesified and the White Cruise was on. Cocktails, food and photobooth set the scene, along with a male fashion show. The Statue of Liberty was glowing radiantly and we waved at her as we sailed past, dancing to music I’ve never heard and sipping drinks of pink lemonade.
The highlight of the night was when Australian blogger Olivia of Wait Until The Sunset’s long term partner Ben propsed to her on the deck under the watch of Lady Liberty. I didn’t witness the proposal, but I was certainly teary when I saw the ring, the photographs and the look in her face when she told me. It was a perfect beginning to Full Figured Fashion Week.
Thanks to the ladies who let me take their pictures on the cruise. If your picture is on the blog, let me know your name and your web address so I can link you!
